Hello, where did you find these ? I’m looking for an archive of McDonnell Douglas Art.
Ron Simpson was my grandpa, he recently passed away this December. He had a portfolio but it became lost in a move or he misplaced it because he had alzheimers. I’ve been trying to find more of his art, I think we have a few things but a lot of it has been lost to time.
Thank you for preserving this. It brought a tear to my eye.
First of all, let me offer my sincere condolences on losing your grandfather. He obviously meant a lot to you, and that’s very telling.
I’ve been searching for more information about your grandfather since I started this site. What I have of his is what you see. I originally became interested in your grandfather’s work when I stumbled across an AP press photo that used his artwork, that photo was released in 1963. The rest are from books, from my friend Mike who also collects and shares concept artwork, and old NASA reports that reproduce his art.
He was an amazing – and sadly unsung – artist.
If you have the time, I’d love to chat to you about him. I’d love to know more about who he was and what he did. I know a lot of people who feel the same. In the meantime, I’m in California at the moment but when I’m home in New York next month I’d be delighted to send along some of the press photos I’ve collected. I’ll email you then.
All the very best, and thank you for reaching out.
I have been perusing the gallery of Ron Simpson’s work and these are really wonderful images . I am very sorry for Brice’s loss. Thanks for collecting all this wonderful art !
